Sparkasse – Schwein gehabt
Young people experience money almost entirely digitally – and often spend it instantly. To make saving relevant again, Sparkasse entered Fortnite with something no bank had dared before: a free-to-play horror game rated 16+. In “Schwein gehabt”, players must rescue Berta the piggy bank from Tilda, a ruthless spender, and bring her safely to Sparkasse. Developed with innovative AI, reactive sound design and appearances by Germany’s biggest streamers, the game turned financial education into immersive branded entertainment. It reached over 350 million contacts, attracted 158,000 unique players and generated more than five years of organic brand engagement. Featured by Fortnite as a best practice, it became the world’s third most popular Creative Island – proving that saving can be anything but scary.
